"How can we make stock research insights more warm and welcoming?"
Valuable stock investing insights, held back by outdated UI/UX. Investify can make a user’s stock search journey significantly easier and jargon free, but the data needs to be shared through simple and convenient visual insights.

Initial Stages - Rebranding and Wireframing
Much like other creative projects, the journey of this project wasn't linear. We were understanding our business and user needs while iterating the visual direction of the project.
Creating low to high fidelity wireframes at the initial stages to give an idea of the structure and visual direction. The process of rebranding the website to make it more youthful, balanced and welcoming.

Identifying Pain points - Stock Search
In our research, it was identified that the stock search step was a pain point and created anxiety for beginner investors, so intelligent filters were introduced to help make this step easier.
After testing with 10+ users from our Investify community facebook groups, we received feedback from our users expressing the need to have more capability to save searches and compare them.
We then introduced key elements such as the Scroll, Clear Filters, My Watchlist and View Advanced Filters dropdown buttons.



Stock reports
Giving the users the ability to compare stocks, as well as downloading stock reports as an added feature, to enable users to download and compare later.

Transparency in sharing how the insights performed
Making sure the actionable Insights measure up by continuously evaluating Insights to quantify the value they add to our users Investing Journey.



Results
With the redesign, users felt more comfortable to sign up for Investify. We had 400 users sign up in the first 3 months of the soft launch.
They understood the stock search abilities, especially leaning into the intelligent filters, and saw them as an opportunity to learn more about stock summaries and 5 star ratings.
In general, users felt confident to make a decision to buy stocks after they familiarised themselves with the peer group and financial analytics screens.

Project Reflections:
01. Users comes first.. almost alwaysThe users comes first, but in the real world of UX, sometimes the timeline, business and development needs do too. This was a challenging one for me. This means you may have to make a compromise on that smart search functionality, but you can always pick it up from the parking lot again (hopefully 🥺).
02. Prioritise Usability Testing
Test more and often. If there's one thing I'd go back and do again, it's testing concepts early on. It really does save so much time, energy and resources.
03. Diverse teams are awesomeDiverse teams create unique solutions and are such a powerhouse in the workforce. All of our cultures have so much knowledge and wisdom and who says we can't get inspiration from them? 💁🏽♀️
